The new settings cover features such as translations, automatic image descriptions in PDFs, AI-powered tab grouping, link previews, and a sidebar chatbot. For the chatbot, users can choose between services including Anthropic Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, and Le Chat Mistral.

Users who do not want any AI features can disable all AI-related functionality with a single toggle. In that case, Firefox will also stop showing pop-ups or prompts related to current or future AI features. The selected preferences will persist through browser updates. Those who want early access can already try the feature in Firefox Nightly.
